Nomi Claire Lazar is assistant professor in The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs of the University of Ottawa. Her work focuses on a number of manifestations of the relationship between institutions and human agency, spanning the history of political thought, contemporary theory, and public policy. She is the author of "States of Emergency in Liberal Democracies" (Cambridge, 2009) and of scholarly writing in several edited volumes and journals, including 'Polity', 'Political Theory', 'Politics and Society', 'Constellations', and the 'University of Toronto Law Journal'.
