    Megan A. Brownlee, MPA, J.D.,
    Megan received her undergraduate degree from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, United States. After her undergraduate study, Megan acquired her Master of Public Administration degree at The Evergreen State College, where she focused her research in statistical methods and public policy concentrations. These skills were applied at the Washington State Department of Corrections, where Megan utilized qualitative and quantitative research methods to analyze conditions of confinement for people housed in Washington State prisons. Megan received her juris doctorate from the University of California, Irvine School of Law in 2018. While in law school, Megan was employed at The Williams Institute at UCLA and at the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s office. Megan was also employed as a research assistant to Professor Benjamin van Rooij, Professor Keramet Reiter, and Dean L. Song Richardson. Prior to relocating to Amsterdam, Megan was employed as a criminal defense lawyer at the Clark County Public Defender’s office in Las Vegas, Nevada. Megan’s advocacy and research efforts have focused on criminal justice reform, prison reform, socio-economic equality, and public policy. Megan’s research interests at the University of Amsterdam concentrate around the efficacy of public policy and law as it relates to shaping human behavior.
