Nanda Oudejans is Associate Professor of Philosophy of Law and Director of the College of Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Amsterdam. Prior to joining the University of Amsterdam, she held academic positions at Utrecht University, VU Amsterdam, and Tilburg University. From 2012 to 2014, she served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Advisory Committee on Migration Affairs at the Ministry of Justice and Security in The Hague.
She studied philosophy at Tilburg University, where she also obtained her PhD in the Department of Philosophy. Her expertise lies in political philosophy and philosophy of law, with a particular focus on dilemmas of inclusion and exclusion, popular sovereignty, democratic theory, ontology, and political economy. Her work has been published in a wide range of national and international journals, addressing issues such as refugee protection, migration, injustice, and violence.
Nanda Oudejans is a frequently invited guest speaker and has contributed regularly in writing to public debate. As a member of ‘Filosofisch Elftal’ she is regularly interviewed by the national newspaper Trouw.
